The corruption scandal which was flashed around MAN in 2009, cost the German company in total 170,6 million euro of penalties. The auditors who were occupied by the analysis of payments for last ten years in all divisions of MAN, revealed payments of suspicious character for a total sum of 51,6 million euro. Besides the large penalty, as a result of the scandal a variety of key top-managers left their posts, beginning from the chairman of board MAN SE Hakana Samuelssona (George Paht-Rejhofen is appointed to temporarily fulfill his duties ) and the head of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Anton Vajnmann who had been working in the company for more than 28 years.
