Decline of the bus market growth rates
32181 buses were produced in RF within nine months of 2011 according to AO ASM-holding, including small classchassis buses of foreign little tonnage producers Ford Transit, MB Sprinter, VW Crafter, Peugeot Boxer and IVECO Daily, that is 7,9% more than the same period of the last year. ASM-holding analysts note slower rates of the bus market recovery in comparison with car and lorry markets. Whereas, foreign bus market share in total RF bus production segment accounted for 17,6% against 13,6% of the same period in 2010. Within the reporting period their production increased by 1,3 times that is to 5423 items. (withoutproductionofLuidorandIritoitems).The bus sales volume for 9 months of 2011 was equal to 39697 items, having increased by 19,8% compared to the first three quarters of 2010. Whereas, local bus sales decreased by 3,8% that is to 22919 items and their market share shrank from 71,9% to 57,8%. Such decline is mostly determined by the sharp cutback in production and dispatch of UAZ minibuses within the first months of 2011 (since June dispatches ex-works renewed at the level close to the figures of 2010, however the total dispatch amount since this year beginning achieved only 56,6% from the same of January – September period in 2010). The sales of «Foreign cars made in Russia» increased by 27,8% that is to 5137 buses, and their market share did accordingly from 12,1% to 12,9%. The highest dynamics of the sales growth was pointed out in the imported bus segments. The volume of the new import doubled to 9066 buses. The import of used buses increased even more (in 2,7 times) that is to 2575 items. The comparison of bus sales figures in January-September 2011 with the same of the first three quarters 2008 report the decline of sales against the pre-crisis level figures by 28,3%. The experts are mostly concerned of increasing Russian production underrun that reduced by 45,6% from 42165 items in January – September 2008.
